Europe—go out and vote!
In the self-initiated project “Europe Elections”, by the students of Augsburg University Johannes Keßler and Alexander Staudt, invites everybody to participate in the European election in 2019.
The two students noted in several discussions on the Augsburg campus how important the role of a unified Europe is for the countries themselves, furthermore for the life and development of the students. Through the Erasmus support programs students have the possibility to apply for a semester abroad at partner universities throughout Europe in order to get many new, different, and interesting insights and influences. This is especially important not only in the development of a designer.
Due to the Brexit, it is unlikely that Erasmus support will be available for semesters abroad in the UK, and thus fewer students British will be attending German and other European campuses.
By calling and inspiring reflection on what a single and united Europe has to offer for EU citizens, the two students came up with the idea of launching the project for a better voter participation not only on their campus.
In the design, a great deal of attention was paid to no political opinion or attitude. Thus, the two have decided on a quote from Pope Francis, which rewrites the peculiarities of Europe:
”Creativity, genius, and a capacity for rebirth and renewal, are part of the soul of Europe.“—Pope Francis, 2016
In addition to a flag triptych, the state-of-the-art equipment includes a strictly limited edition, screen-printed series of T-shirts.
The project was supported by Camelot Typefaces.
ALL FOR YOU, OH EUROPE!
